1 Chronicles 26:4-8. Here, Uzzah was killed for reaching out to instictively steady the ark after the Lord declared no one should touch it. Then the Ark of the Lord came to rest with Obed Edom for three months, for David was afraid to move the ark into Jerusalem with him, after being angry with God for Uzzah's death.

Obed Edom welcomed the ark into his home, and his entire household was blessed as a result. David heard of the good things that were happening to Obed Edom.
